Spent this spooky, fall Halloween day walking around Mt. Airy Park here in my hometown of Cincinnati.
This is the same park that my grandfather was stationed at as Park Police Commander. He spent 25 years as a Cincinnati Police Captain and a great time protecting and preserving our Cincinnati Parks. A dedication rock and bench sit near the lake in Mt. Airy in honor of his service.
This is the same park my parents got engaged in.
It holds a lot of nostalgic and sentimental value for me and my family, and it is one of the prettiest places in the city, especially when it is colored by fall or covered in snow.
I've been pretty stressed out lately. It's been a crazy semester with it being my final year of college...independent study project, graduate classes, exams, papers, thesis, newspaper, sorority life.
Even though I have a billion things to do and life is really hectic right now, it was nice to slow down, stop and enjoy the simple beauty of life today.
The park was so quiet, beautiful and calming...food for the soul.
My good friend Ferris Bueller is right:
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
